Namibian Myrrh, traditionally known as Omumbiri, has been used for many years as a traditional perfume by the Himba women of the Namib Desert.

To produce Namibian Myrrh essential oil, the resin the plant secretes is steam distilled. This produces an essential oil with a clean and earthy smell.

Properties of Namibian Myrrh essential oil

Namibian Myrrh is both antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. It helps fight skin infections such as athlete’s foot, weeping eczema, bedsores, acne and boils. It is also excellent for oral health when used as a mouthwash or applied to the teeth and gums.
